Hiring a Law Firm: Does Size Really Matter?

Recently, Morrison Cohen Chairman and Managing Partner David A. Scherl authored an article in Corporate Counsel, examining the commercial environment that law firms have faced since the 2008-2009 financial crisis.  He argues that, as general counsel and other in-house attorneys increasingly receive directives from their CEOs, CFOs and boards of directors to better control their operating expenses, they are becoming more open to hiring law firms other than the largest and best-recognized ones.
