CITIC Capital raises $925 Million Private Equity Fund

CITIC Capital Partners announced the launch during the first quarter of a new fund to focus on private equity investments in Chinese consumer products and manufacturing companies. The new fund, CITIC Capital China Partners II, L.P., raised $925 million for buyout and privatization investments. This is the second fund raised by CITIC Capital Partners, the private equity unit of Chinese state-owned investment firm CITIC Capital Holdings Ltd., targeting Chinese companies. Morrison Cohen, which was counsel to both the sponsor and the initial buyout fund, also represented the sponsor and assisted in structuring, forming and documenting the new fund and its related entities.
