Q-Med AB and Oceana Therapeutics, LLC Enter Into Worldwide License and Distribution Arrangements

On April 22, 2009, Q-Med AB, the Uppsala, Sweden-based medical device company, that primarily develops and manufactures medical implants, entered into agreements to license worldwide commercialization rights to Deflux and Solesta. The agreements also include future products that utilize Q-Med's proprietary NASHA technology. As part of the transaction, Q-Med sold its U.S. subsidiary to Oceana. Q-Med will continue to develop and manufacture all products covered by the license arrangement under supply agreements also negotiated as part of the deal. Morrison Cohen represented Q-Med in these transactions.
