For Fund Managers Facing Investment Adviser Registration, Some Practical Advice

By now, most managers of hedge funds and private equity funds know that they will likely be required to register as investment advisers with the Securities and Exchange Commission by July 21, 2011. Registration will certainly have a dramatic impact on how fund managers need to conduct their business, and will require, for instance, comprehensive reporting, record keeping and operational compliance with a broad array of regulatory mandates.
