Treasury Appoints Special Master to Approve Compensation Arrangements For Recipients of

July 16, 2009. Acting under rules adopted in June, the Treasury Department appointed Kenneth R. Feinberg as the "Special Master" with authority to review and approve compensation arrangements for senior executives and other highly paid personnel of financial institutions that have received assistance under the government's TARP program.
