Morrison Cohen Achieves Midsize Mansfield Certification, Reflecting its Commitment to Inclusive Leadership
Morrison Cohen is pleased to announce its achievement of Diversity Lab's Midsize Mansfield Certification status, marking a significant milestone in the firm’s commitment to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace. This certification is a testament to Morrison Cohen’s unwavering dedication to fostering an inclusive culture and broadening the talent pool for firm leadership.
Mansfield Certification recognizes law firms that have demonstrated excellence in affirmatively considering underrepresented talent for top leadership roles and has become the standard for law firms to track and measure their success. Created by Diversity Lab, the certification process takes a behavioral science approach that embeds accountability, transparency and knowledge sharing into the firm’s talent practices, understanding that with diverse leadership comes more inclusive and equitable decisions that benefit both the firm and its clients.
Morrison Cohen achieved certification after a rigorous 15-month process on their first attempt. The firm has a long-standing commitment to DEI that was further strengthened through the appointment of Bobby Codjoe as the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in March of this year. Additionally, Morrison Cohen has focused their efforts towards assembling a skilled and representative leadership team across the firms top HR, Operations, Marketing and Finance roles.
“The need for improved DEI efforts within the legal industry is evident to most legal professionals, and we are delighted to join this group of more than 240 top law firms as a part of our strategy to improve opportunities across all groups. The Mansfield framework helps us take a systematic and intentional approach to advancing our leadership and benefits everyone at the firm,” Codjoe said.
This certification is one of many steps towards Morrison Cohen’s overarching goal of promoting inclusivity, and the firm looks forward to more opportunity to advance equity and access to leadership.
