Morrison Cohen Partner Y. David Scharf Elected USTA Foundation’s Vice President of Board of Directors
April 23, 2015 - Morrison Cohen LLP is pleased to announce that partner Y. David Scharf has been elected vice president of the board of directors of the U.S. Tennis Association Foundation, the USTA's charitable organization.
David, who will serve a three-year term as vice president, will co-chair the Development Committee, join the Nominations & Governance Committee and continue to serve on the Finance Committee.
He is a partner in the firm's Business Litigation, Real Estate and Restructuring groups, as well as a member of the Executive Committee. He also appears as a frequent lecturer at the Urban Land Institute and local civic groups.
The USTA Foundation works to bring tennis and education together to help under-resourced youth; individuals with disabilities; and wounded, ill and injured military service members, veterans and their families. The organization has awarded more than $19 million in grants and scholarships to more than 270 programs, benefitting thousands of children and adults through tennis, education and health initiatives.
