Morrison Cohen Wins Great Firm to Work Award at Law Firm Excellence Awards
For the second year in a row, Morrison Cohen was recognized at the Ames & Gough Law Firm Excellence Awards. Following last year’s award for Best Managed Firm, the firm was honored to accept the Great Firm to Work Award at the Yale Club in New York City on January 10, 2024. The annual event, hosted by Uri Gutfreund of Ames & Gough, celebrates law firms and their leaders who make a difference.
In presenting Morrison Cohen with the award, Uri praised the firm for its friendly and collegial culture and investment in its people. He noted that the firm prioritizes professional growth by offering associates one-on-one mentorship, business development, business planning and communications training.
The firm was also recognized for hiring a Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, holding events to celebrate the rich variety of backgrounds that comprise the firm community and upgrading the mentorship program. It was noted that regular team-building activities designed to foster engagement and a sense of belonging – vision board workshops, holiday baking competitions, bowling parties, book clubs, wellness challenges and fundraisers – were also factors that make Morrison Cohen a Great Firm to Work.
In attendance to accept the award were Chair & Co-Managing Partner Steven Cooperman, Chief Operating Officer Jenni Eastman, Director of Marketing & Business Development Alicia Brewster and Director of Human Resources Karen Owens.
Accepting the award, Steve said, “I realize it sounds a bit like summer camp – we also do great legal work, too!” Jenni added, “All of the award categories are something we’d be proud to receive, but the Great Firm to Work Award is especially meaningful because I think it’s how people at our firm feel and something we take pride in.
