Team of Seventh Graders Coached by Morrison Cohen Partner Jeffrey Brooks wins the Twenty-Second Annual Thurgood Marshall Junior Mock Trial Competition
June 17, 2019 – Morrison Cohen Litigation Partner Jeffrey Brooks successfully coached a group of seventh-grade students from The Epiphany School in Manhattan in preparation for the Thurgood Marshall Junior Mock Trial Competition conducted in May and June at the Bronx Supreme Court. Jeffrey's daughter, Hadley, age 12, was one of the star student attorneys on the team.
The team began preparing in January, and the competition itself began on May 14, 2019. The competition included 40 teams and several hundred students from schools throughout New York City.
Jeffrey's team advanced through the first, second and semi-final rounds and then won the championship round on June 12, 2019.
The Thurgood Marshall Junior Mock Trial Competition was founded by Bronx County Supreme Court Justice Elizabeth A. Taylor in 1997.
