Chair and Co-Managing Partner Y. David Scharf moderated a panel at Commercial Observer’s Fall Financing CRE Forum on November 2, 2023. The panel, entitled “Open for Business? Top Financing Sources Talk Availability,” included Grant Frankel of Eastdil Secured, Patrick Mattson of KKR Real Estate Finance Trust Inc. and Carina Kalaw of Bank United. The panelists discussed what rising interest rates and the recent boost in bank earnings means for CRE, what they are willing to loan on and their forecast for 2024.
The forum, which brought together executives influencing real estate deals across the capital stack, focused on understanding the financing and investment landscape and its current challenges and opportunities. The event took place at The St. Regis New York.
