Christopher Milito concentrates his practice on real estate and development matters and commercial contract disputes. 

Christopher’s practice emphasizes achieving a trial-ready posture and trying cases to verdict. He routinely tries cases before New York and U.S. federal courts, and arbitrations before the American Arbitration Association.
Christopher began his career at the New York County District Attorney’s Office, where he spent five years investigating and trying felony organized crime cases. After leaving public service, he litigated complex product liability cases on behalf of pharmaceutical and energy companies, handling multi-district litigations in federal court and consolidated actions in state court. He joined Morrison Cohen in 2011.

Experience

  • As lead counsel, obtained dismissal for Israeli tech company on jurisdictional grounds.

Prior to joining Morrison Cohen

  • Obtained dismissal of shareholder derivative claims on behalf of a board of directors in a breach of duty of loyalty litigation.
  • As a member of the trial team, represented a Fortune 100 energy company, and obtained dismissal after trial of product liability claims arising from the use of a fuel additive.
  • As lead trial counsel, obtained judgment in favor of a board of directors in an action brought by shareholders to challenge the validity of corporate elections.
  • As co-counsel in an arbitration proceeding, obtained judgment after trial in a dispute between members of a single-purpose real estate LLC.
