Erika Shapiro focuses her practice on commercial real estate and commercial litigation matters.

Erika has extensive experience in a broad range of litigation matters. Prior to joining Morrison Cohen, Erika practiced litigation at White & Case LLP, with a focus on complex antitrust cases involving pharmaceutical companies.
Through this work, Erika helped successfully defend pharmaceutical companies against antitrust and unfair competition allegations, with a particular concentration on the Hatch-Waxman Act, product hopping, and reverse payment settlement allegations. Erika has further worked on several commercial litigation matters involving breach of contract, tort, trademark infringement, bankruptcy, and commercial real estate. Erika has also managed multiple cases defending physicians and hospitals against allegations of malpractice.

Professional Activities

Erika is committed to the academic community and is the Founder and CEO of Study Songs, an app aimed at helping students study for the multistate bar exam through melodies contained in over 80 original songs and through pop-up definitions of over 1200 legal terms and concepts.

Erika is also invested in pro bono work and is committed to those in need of legal assistance.  She has successfully appealed New York City’s denial of disability benefits to a 9/11 first responder, obtained divorces for indigent and vulnerable clients, and participated in the representation of New York City students and school employees in their effort to replace hazardous light fixtures in school buildings.
