Vani Upadhyaya focuses her practice on litigation, arbitration and regulatory enforcement relating to cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.
Vani represents companies and individuals in the digital assets space in cutting-edge litigation, and in investigations and enforcement actions by government agencies, such as the SEC, CFTC, DOJ and state regulators. She also regularly advises domestic and foreign companies on litigation and regulatory risk in digital assets law.
Vani’s trial experience at a prior litigation firm included serving as second-chair of a bench trial in New York County Supreme Court, Commercial Division, where she represented an investor in a blockchain company that brought individual and derivative claims for breach of fiduciary duty. She also has vast experience in complex commercial litigation matters, such as contract disputes, insurance coverage actions and IP litigation.
Vani received her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where she was a member of the Fordham Law Review and on the board of Fordham Law Moot Court. She received her B.A. from Fordham University at Lincoln Center, where she was a member of Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society and president of the South Asian Culture Club. Vani currently serves on the board of South Asian Bar Association of New York as the Vice President of Private Sector.
