Y. David Scharf and Christopher Milito Quoted in Real Deal Story on Wall Street Lease Dispute
Morrison Cohen Co-Managing Partner Y. David Scharf and Litigation Partner Christopher Milito were quoted in a Real Deal article reporting on a lease dispute over a historic Wall Street Building.
The firm recently obtained an unusual injunction preventing the landlord from attempting to collect rent from the firm’s client, the lessee of three commercial units at 23 Wall Street. The court issuing the restraint took the further step of granting a full preliminary injunction at the outset of the case, skipping the normal step of issuing a temporary restraining order, thereby protecting the firm’s client for the pendency of the litigation.
The article is entitled “Jack Terzi, China Sonangol back in court over 23 Wall Street - Judge awards Terzi injunction to stop lease termination at century-old building until lawsuit plays out.” It can be viewed here.
