Our attorneys represent a broad range of employees in all stages of the employment cycle. We represent CEOs, COOs, CFOs and other senior executives of public and private companies; investment bankers, portfolio managers, private equity professionals, traders, analysts and other employees of financial service firms; doctors, lawyers, accountants and pharmaceutical/biotech industry professionals; members, partners, shareholders and other business owners; and employees in virtually all industries across the country.
We take the time to get to know our clients so we can negotiate on their behalf with their specific objectives in mind. Part of this process includes making sure our clients understand all components of their compensation arrangements and all facets of their contractual obligations, including post-employment restrictions on competition. We also offer our insight and experience as to standard market practice for such arrangements and obligations, giving our clients a better understanding of what is “commercial.” Our representations include, among other things, the negotiation and proper implementation of employment, incentive, change in control, retention, deferred compensation and separation arrangements.
We also advise our individual clients, including, frequently, management teams, on compensation, severance, golden parachute, deferred compensation and other issues that arise in the context of mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, initial public offerings, restructurings and other extraordinary corporate events, including private equity and leveraged buyout transactions.
